چکیده

We study thermal leptogenesis in classes of neutrino mass models based on the seesaw mechanism with three right-handed neutrinos and sequential right-handed neutrino dominance. The flavour-dependent Boltzmann equations are solved appropriate to both the Standard Model and the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model. Within these classes of models we investigate constraints and expectations on the individual decay asymmetries and washout parameters from the present data on neutrino masses and mixings. In many cases of physical interest flavour effects are shown to have important consequences for the estimation of the produced baryon asymmetry in leptogenesis. We also establish and analyze the link between the leptonic CP violating phase δ, observable in neutrino oscillations, and the CP violation required for leptogenesis, where flavour-dependent effects have a significant effect. In general our results show that flavour-dependent effects cannot be ignored when dealing with three right-handed neutrino models. A fuller flavour treatment of N2-dominated leptogenesis

We discuss N2-dominated leptogenesis in the presence of flavour dependent effects that have hitherto been neglected, in particular the off-diagonal entries of the flavour coupling matrix that connects the total flavour asymmetries, distributed in different particle species, to the lepton and Higgs doublet asymmetries. We derive analytical formulae for the final asymmetry including the flavour c...

Leptogenesis-MNS Link in Unified Models with Natural Neutrino Mass Hierarchy

We discuss the relation between leptogenesis and the MNS phases in the class of see-saw models called light sequential dominance in which the right-handed neutrinos dominate sequentially, with the dominant right-handed neutrino being the lightest one. The heaviest right-handed neutrino then decouples, leaving effectively two righthanded neutrinos. Light sequential dominance is motivated by SO(1...

Invariant see-saw models and sequential dominance

We propose an invariant see-saw (ISS) approach to model building, based on the observation that see-saw models of neutrino mass and mixing fall into basis invariant classes labelled by the Casas-Ibarra R-matrix, which we prove to be invariant not only under basis transformations but also non-unitary right-handed neutrino transformations S. According to the ISS approach, given any see-saw model ...

Flavour Matters in Leptogenesis

We give analytic approximations to the baryon asymmetry produced by thermal leptogenesis with hierarchical right-handed neutrinos. Our calculation includes flavour-dependent washout processes and CP violation in scattering, and neglects gauge interactions and finite temperature corrections. Our approximate formulae depend upon the three CP asymmetries in the individual lepton flavours as well a...

Towards constraints on the SUSY seesaw from flavour-dependent leptogenesis

We systematically investigate constraints on the parameters of the supersymmetric type-I seesaw mechanism from the requirement of successful thermal leptogenesis in the presence of upper bounds on the reheat temperature TRH of the early Universe. To this end, we solve the flavour-dependent Boltzmann equations in the MSSM, extended to include reheating. With conservative bounds on TRH, leading t...
